Temporary Orders

Temporary Orders

Temporary orders are orders the court puts in place while a divorce or custody case is pending. Divorces usually take some time to complete so temporary orders are used to establish certain issues while it is ongoing. Temporary orders include temporary custody, temporary child support, temporary spousal support, and any other issue that needs to be addressed immediately and cannot wait until the divorce is over.

Temporary orders are often very different than the permanent orders put into place at the end of the case. However, temporary orders are critical for certain parties to gain the advantage they need.
